Ragamuffins Comics

Gravatar : a cool little program

So I recently found a program called Gravatar. Gravatar allows you to link avatar images to a specific email account so that no matter what forum or comment space you post on, it can consistently use the same avatar. This is a fantastic way to achieve globally recognized avatars. You should join up it takes only 2 minutes (honestly) and then use your new avatar to make a comment here! You can use any image and it crops it down for you, simple and easy. Its also cool too because if you have posted any where before it will automatically post your image.

Just click the gravatar image and you’ll be on your way!

Llamas are pink!

OK.  Final pricing is in for the first Ragamuffins T-Shirts.  The medium, large, and XL shirts are going to be $15.00 a piece.  The Tall Tee shirts are going to be $20.00 a piece.  If you require shipping there is an additional charge of $2.00 for shipping and handling.  Orders of $30.00 or more there is free shipping.  To order send an email to seth@eppieverse.com with your contact info and your order.  The store will be up and running soon!

So t-shirts are on the way.  I have printed shirts before with my Eppies characters and I find that most people who enjoy the strip, like shirts.  I too enjoy them very much. The shirts are going to be through Royaltee Threads.  I know this young group and they do great work.  Check their stuff out at http://www.royalteethreads.com/home.html So here is a sneak peek at the artwork for the Tees.  Going to be black shirts with BrightPink ink…SWEEEET!  Let me know what you think.

Ragamuffins in print!

first-time-in-print

Today May 2nd in Section B page 5 of the Vail Daily, Ragamuffins made their first appearance in a newspaper.  I will be scanning in the page so I can revel in the joy.  if your able to make sure to pick up a copy of the paper and check it out.  Because I am trying to pair the printing in the paper with the posting on the site, there may be a two week hiatus of postings here…I will however try to post some fun things so that its not two weeks of complete nothing.  Thanks again for all the support!  Thanks to the Vail Daily for giving a young artist a shot!

I am very proud and honored to announce that the Ragamuffins will be printed in the Vail Daily newspaper.  As of now they will be printed once a week, most likely Thursdays or Fridays.  The Vail Daily is a fantastic publication and one that I read every day.  For my work to be a part of that is really…really cool.  I do not know as of yet if they will be printed in color or in gray scale, I am hoping they will choose color.  Don’t worry, even if they run them in gray they will be posted here in color!

Now that the guys (and gals) from Ragamuffins are going to be printed there will be a change in the posting date.  I am going to wait and see when they print them and then correlate that with the posting here on the site.  I don’t really have more to say other than go and check out the Vail Daily site and the first time the Ragamuffins will be printed very well could be tomorrow or Friday.  I’ll scan it in and post it :D

Thanks again to everyone for supporting the Ragamuffins!

!! ShelfBound !!

I was just introduced to a site called ShelfBound.  This site reviews comics, graphic novels, film, and I guess really just about anything.  The site is created and run by Nick Smith and Hunter Dixon.  Two guys with strong opinions and a love for graphic storytelling.  I must say the site does not hold its tongue and will give a very relevant review.  I have personally been able to meet both of these guys and they are awesome!  Take a look at the site and I guarantee you will be hooked!

Stylistic Changes

As you can see I have recently been working on a few different styles for the strip.  It started as a traditional black and white strip, which I felt was relatively successful.  Then I started working on integrating gray scale which I liked but was not ultimately happy with.  Then it hit me, I was looking at one of my paintings and said, man it would be really cool if I could achieve something like that with my weekly comic.  So I spent a number of hours on Sunday and I think I have gotten somewhat close.  It is still a continuous work in progress but I am a lot happier with the product.  I hope you all like it as well.

This weekend I am attending a small book fair to promote my publishing company KaviDog Press.  Also promoting the Eppies and Ragamuffins.  I absolutely love these events, its a great chance to get feedback and to express the love I have for books, art, and good stories.

I hope you enjoy the strips and continue to check it out weekly.
