The time is here. Lacrosse season has begun, which means that I have now started 80 hour weeks. Not bad, in fact I love it. Waking up at 5:30 in the morning teaching all day then coaching for three hours is great…it just doesn’t leave much time to draw. Or do much of anything else for that matter. I have this weeks strip drawn out, I need to color it and add text. I am hoping to have this completed by the evening and get it posted up. It looks like, with my current schedule I may be posting at sporadic times, I don’t plan on missing any postings but a few may be a bit late. I apologize in advance, but continue to thank you for the support.
On another note, I cannot wait to play Journey! This game looks like it takes simplicity and elegance to a whole new level. I have heard that it is short, but yet a very good experience. With my limited time…Which means I have yet to finish Assassins Creed Revelations (Which man does Assassins Creed 3 look great or what…freaking George Washington and the Assassins…Nerd + History + Video Games = Greatness) My brother (Zach) who is a major history guy wants to play and he hardly ever plays games outside of Madden and NCAA.
I have yet yo watch Game of Thrones and or The Walking Dead…but everyone seems to love it. I plan to pick up the first season of each (or watch them online) to see what all the hype is about. Of course that would mean that I would first have to have some free time…which doesn’t look to be happening. I am also very excited for the Hunger Games movie…ever since HP ended there has been a whole in my heart. My first novel is 90% complete, I have had other students, young adults, and peers read it, and have received some great feedback. A few more edits and I plan to invest a huge amount of energy into trying to find an Agent.
Well, thats it for now…look for the new strip up tonight, and thanks again for all of the support. You guys are amazing!
Jones out.
I had a student come into my room first thing this morning begging me to listen to him and to spread what he was telling me. After listening to him speak eloquently and adamently (of course I did my reasearch) I have shared the video with each one of my classes. It has now over taken twiiter here at LMHS…This is a wonderful cause and needs to be known. for those of you assisting with this thank you (but lets not forget there are many things in the world that need assistance from those who are capable) Lets end Koy’s rein of tyrony and then continue to clean up the rest of the trash around the world.
Due to weather, I had to cancel practice today. Even though I am incredibly tired, I thought it was a good opportunity to get a jump on the next strip. Here is the line work for it. I’ve started coloring it and it should be posted soon. So far I really like this, may be one of the “best drawn” strips I’ve done for ragamuffins (at least in my opinion) Let me know what you all think, sound off in the comments section! Thanks again for all of your support.
So at the encouragement of my students (actually seeing how much they use it) I have made the jump on the bandwagon and have set up a twitter account. I’m not the best with social networks, but I do see how it is a great tool to keep people informed about my artwork, comic strips, books, and other creative endeavors I have invested time in. Please continue to spread the word about Ragamuffins as I am really focusing on posting every week and being consistent with it. I would LOVE to be able to post multiple comics a week but I just don’t see how I have the time currently.
You can follow me @RagamuffinComic If you have a twitter that you think I should follow, sound off in the comments section and let me know.
It is now 2012.
I am now going to be posting a new strip every week. I will not miss a week from this point forward.
There is, however, some changes. I have decided to jump the strip ten years in the future. I wanted to be able to tell more mature jokes and storylines. I also felt as though if I were to do that with them still in the fourth grade it would feel too similar to “South park”. I am very excited as the people whom the characters are based off of are now helping out creatively. If I can I am going to get them set up so that they can now post messages and comments here on the site. I am hoping they will post about the strip, the story behind the strip, or really on just about anything. I am living back in Kentucky, to be around my family. It has been a “weird” transition but one well worth it. I am also going to be using this site to highlight many aspects of what I like to spend my free time doing.
You will see there are new “tabs” available which include paintings, books, and Lacrosse. I once said, that i have three A’s in my life. Art, Athletics, and Academics. If I am doing any of those things, I am genuinely happy. I am blessed as I get to do all three of those on a regular basis.
Look forward to hearing insight from Bubbles, Patty, and Zach…you may even get some great stories from Thomas, (who does live in Costa Rica) I am also looking to include myself in the series. I have felt a bit left out
and truly, we as a group work much better than just a primary focus on Zach and Chris. Plus, i found that I was not really being true to the greatness of Chris’s personality as I was putting some of my own characteristics into his character. I believe you will be seeing me soon.
Again, thank you all for the support and emails asking when strips are going to be back up. I might even be able to get strips going twice a week. Writing and drawing Ragamuffins really hopes increase my happiness. Thank you all again!
